Panels of automobiles that were painted with automotive base coat and clear coat systems were divided into two sections; the top half was treated with very well known brands of car waxes and protectants while the lower half was treated with Mazzarella's Flash Wax.

These panels were subjected to UV light in a QUV instrument which mimics direct sunlight. After only 6 weeks in the QUV instrument (which is roughly the equivalent to two years of normal weathering), the panels that were treated with the competitive brands of waxes and protectants showed a severe loss of gloss and clarity while the sections treated with Flash Wax retained their high gloss and clarity.
